OT Comp – Off Trail Competition!
Confidence is key when running in extreme terrain. Therefore, when developing the ultimate off trail performance shoe, Salming teamed up with technical sole brand Michelin in order to create a lightweight, agile, self-cleaning sole with excellent traction that caters to the needs of trail, orienteering, OCR and SwimRun athletes.
The lug design of the outsole is inspired by Michelin’s mountain bike and motorbike tyres; Wild Mud and Starcross 5. The specially constructed “lug within a lug” design provides maximum penetration in mud when searching for harder ground and grip. At the arch there’s a tread design for stability, control and traction on obstacles. The rubber used on the outsole is Michelin’s OCX – Outdoor Compound Extreme – which features an extreme adherence on wet, slippery surfaces thanks to a special sticky compound.
The base structure that connects the outsole to the midsole adopts the Michelin Fibre Lite Technology construction that enables extreme lightness through a very thin but very durable textile layer. The RunLite™ midsole is made thin to allow your foot to send sensory feedback to your brain to ensure you choose your steps carefully when running in extreme terrain, but still with enough cushioning to make your run comfortable.
The upper is constructed from a lightweight mesh allowing excellent water drainage and breathability. The side areas exposed to the wear and tear of rugged terrain have added RocShield™ reinforcement areas, protecting your foot and shoe whilst also providing extra durability and confidence for the athlete. As with all Salming shoes, the OT Comp features the Torsion Guide System known as TGS 62/75™. The distance from heel to the ball of the foot (62% of the shoe) has been designed with extra stability, which ends in the so-called ”ballet” line, a 75° angle. In front of the 75° line, the shoe has greater flexibility to stimulate the foot’s natural movements.

Shoes
Measure the length of your foot by standing on a flat surface with your full weight on your foot, then measure the distance from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe. You may find one foot is longer than the other, this is quite normal, please use the larger size when making your shoe size selection.
Add 5-10mm to your foot length to allow your foot room to move. This will give you the length you need to find your size.
Example: You foot measures 24cm. Add 10mm to your foot's length to find you will fit comfortably into a size UK 6 (25cm Footbed Length).
